Membership is open to anyone wishing to research, collect and share genealogical information in the Northeastern North Carolina counties.

Membership dues are $20.00 per calendar year. This entitles members to our quarterly, Carolina Trees & Branches, and a Membership Surname List with updates. New members receive all issues for the year in which they join.

Memberships received after October will be considered membership for the following year unless otherwise requested. Queries/information requested to appear in the quarterly will be printed as space allows. Members get four free queries per year. A fee of $3.00 is required for each non-member query.

The Family Research Society meets on the first Sunday of the even numbered months (February, April, June, August, October, December). Meetings are open to the public and held at the Family Research Society Library (410 East Main Street, Suite 204, Elizabeth City, NC) beginning at 3:00 PM. We have enjoyed interesting guest speakers and fascinating topics. Please try to attend.
